NEWS: Abdul, 'Personality Important On Dance'
THE REPORTS KEEP COMING IN, LOTS OF BUZZ GOING ON WITH PAULA'S NEW SHOW.
Paula Abdul has reportedly said that personality is important on her new reality show Live To Dance.
The former American Idol judge is currently filming the audition stage of the upcoming CBS competition, which aims to find the best amateur dancer or dance group in America.
Speaking to the New York Daily News at the first round of try-outs in New York, the singer and dancer said that she enjoys watching performers who bring something extra to their routines.
"I can watch a technically trained dancer who can execute the most perfect pirouettes and grand jetes and I can watch a dancer who aspires to do that and they may not be perfect, but their heart just oozes out of them," she explained.
"They know how to fill those empty spaces with the right angle of their head, or the right added touch that makes you go, 'That's so much more interesting to me.'"
She has also been posting updates from the various audition days on her Twitter account, revealing that everyone from 5 years olds to senior citizens have been in line.
"There were people who came & they didn't just audition, they did a full on PERFORMANCE! (sic)" she added. "They OWNED their audition w/ creativity & passion!"
Abdul previously said that the aim of the show - which also boasts Kimberly Wyatt and choreographer Travis Payne as judges - is to "encourage people who excel in different areas of dance".
Live To Dance premieres on CBS next year.
