The Vibe LIVE January 27th & 28th In Utah

The Covey Center is pleased to host the Vibe, a young, high-energy group of dancers from Lindon that appeared on the premier episode of Paula Abdul's "Live to Dance" (CBS, February 2011). The program judges called the 38 Utah dancers amazing, awesome and incredible!

Live to Dance wasn't the Vibe's first television appearance. In 2010, they had the opportunity to be guest performers on "Dancing with the Stars." They also performed with the show's Mark Ballas in a "Toxic Duel" the previous October. This is the most talented group I've ever been a part of, Ballas said. They learned the choreography in no time.

As always with the Vibe, this January's performance will include celebrity performers, which in the past have included Mark Ballas, Derek Hough and Chelsie Hightower, all of TV's Dancing with the Stars.

The Vibe performances always sell quickly: get your tickets today!

NEWS: Why Paula Abdul Is 'Living Life To The Fullest'

Paula Abdul is feeling "blessed."

After more than 25 years of debilitating chronic pain – which began with a cheerleading accident when she was 17 – the former American Idol judge has been pain-free for almost three years and is now relishing her TV comeback.

"I have been incredible," Abdul tells PEOPLE. "Incredible for me is not being in pain, living life to the fullest without regrets and without worries of 'How am I going to manage this aspect of physical pain?' "

The singer-choreographer-television producer is hard at work on her current "labor of love," CBS's Live to Dance, a reality dance competition with no limits on age or type of dance – a show which Abdul, 48, says is "about celebration rather than elimination."

The show, currently in its semi-finals, is executive produced by Abdul, who also acts as a costume consultant, designer and mentor for the various acts who perform in a variety of styles from ballet to hip-hop and swing.

"I hope the audience gets the same experience that the acts are living out," Abdul says. "They will remember this experience as one that is aspirational and inspirational and that there is never a ceiling on creativity."

Inspired daily by the acts she encounters on her show and free of the pain medication that she relied on for so long, Abdul is now counting her blessings.

"It's 'knock on wood,' but it's also, 'thank God,' " she says. "I don't take one ounce of it for granted."

NEWS: Travis Payne; Paula Is 'Smart, Strong, Aware'

Jan. 24, 2011 - 'Live to Dance's' Travis Payne: Paula Abdul's 'Smart, Strong, Aware'/Gerard Butler To Fend Off Soccer Moms

Paula Abdul's new CBS "Live to Dance" competition show took a ratings tumble when it ran up against her old show, "American Idol," in head-to-head competition last week (26.2 million viewers compared to 5.3 million) — but "Live to Dance" judge and Paula pal Travis Payne refuses to go negative about that.

"The only way to look at it is that both shows are perpetuating the arts. Both are so specific. There's room for both," insists the renowned choreographer and dancer, known for his work with Michael Jackson, as well as dozens of other top names including Beyonce, Shakira, Usher, Lady Gaga, Madonna and (small world!) Jennifer Lopez.

As far as all the talk about competition between Abdul's former and current shows? "Great!" he declares.

"It gets people to be interested. As long as it's not mean-spirited, wonderful."

But people do get mean-spirited — very — when it comes to Abdul.

Payne, who had his first professional audition with none other than Abdul years ago, admits he feels protective. "Absolutely! But I know she's strong and she's smart. She's very aware — very aware — of all that goes on, and she's an excellent sort of mentor and a wonderful businesswoman. And she's thrilled to be executive producing this show and getting to use all her talents. You know, we spend a lot of our time lending our names and talents to someone else's vision. Now, for her, this is her vision. That's a major accomplishment."

The fast-paced seven-week "Live to Dance" competition is in semi-finals, with its winner of $500,000 to be determined on the Feb. 9 finale.

"We are in just a sort of constant state of excitement," says Payne, who adds that despite being aware of "American Idol," he's "only had time to focus on 'Live to Dance.'"

He feels that, among other things, the show offers "a nice alternative" to shows that trade on devastating critiques.

"I think about how my parents were with me, and how instructors were with me, and I was always way better when I was in a positive, nurturing place," he says. "That's how Michael Jackson was — everybody must be happy; everybody must be heard. We give it to the contestants straight, but we also say how to improve, and how to meet a different level of challenges — rather than, 'Oh, my God, that's the worst thing I've seen.'"

Payne, who "just celebrated the release of 'This is It' in Japan" is also "gearing up for the Michael Jackson Immortal tour, presented by Cirque du Soleil. We've just completed the casting process and are now figuring out scheduling" for the show. He reports it will be heading out on the road this spring and will consist of "all his music and all-new imagery, new interpretations of his famous work. I'm pleased to be able to be part of it."

GOAL, Y'ALL: Give Gerard Butler credit for mixing things up. The handsome Scotsman, who was recently in Belgrade, Serbia filming "Coriolanus," will be in Shreveport, La., come mid-March, to shoot Millennium Films' lighthearted "Playing the Field." He'll be playing a former soccer star who has made a mess of his career and family life, with an ex-wife who is about to marry someone else and a son who is trying to look up to him. He takes on the task of coaching said son's team and finds himself fending off soccer moms. Casting of subsidiary roles is now under way.

PILOTING: Fox is planning a "Bones" spinoff, yet untitled, about a woman (somewhere between ages 25 and her 40s) who's been in the witness protection program, until her secret identity was exposed. She is described as "intelligent, witty and tough," any ethnicity.

"The Biggest Loser," meanwhile, started its winter/spring run ahead of where the fall season began and gave NBC the top spot among adults 18-49 in primetime.

CBS led the overall race Tuesday with 10.2 million viewers and a 6.5 rating/10 share in households. NBC (7.8 million, 4.8/8) came in second, finishing comfortably ahead of ABC (6.2 million, 3.8/6). FOX came in fourth with 4.3 million viewers and a 2.7/4. A night of repeats on The CW drew 925,000 viewers and a 0.6/1.

NBC scored a 2.9 rating in the adults 18-49 demo to lead the pack. CBS, 2.2, was the only other network to finish above 2.0. ABC took third with a 1.7, followed by FOX at 1.5. The CW managed only a 0.3.

NEWS: Paula Abdul Launches Casting Website

Paula Abdul is still searching for up-and-coming talent — this time on the Internet.

The former American Idol judge has launched AuditionBooth.com, a website that strives to connect wannabe stars with casting directors, producers and managers working on such projects as TV shows, online videos or brand campaigns.

Kimberly Wyatt, Travis Payne join Paula Abdul as Live to Dance judges

"I've spent so much time throughout my career nurturing great talent, some of whom have realized their dreams and some of whom haven't been as lucky," Abdul told The Hollywood Reporter. "The fact is though that in some cases the only difference has been opportunity — that is what AuditionBooth is about — the opportunity."

Abdul, whose new CBS dance show Live to Dance premieres in January, is co-founder, equity partner and board member of AuditionBooth.com. She is responsible for the look and feel of the site and has a blog, on which she posts videos offering advice.

Paula Abdul to return to judges table on CBS' Live to Dance

Telemundo, Reveille, Screenvision, MasterChef and women's clothing firm Dots, which is working on a brand campaign with former Idol champ Jordin Sparks, are among the first partners offering auditioning opportunities on the site.

Casting directors can sort through submissions based on different criteria, and talent can answer casting questions and record or re-record videos via webcams.

Abdul says she hopes the site can provide "fresh new personalities" for entertainment professionals.
