NEWS: Paula Abdul Launches Casting Website
Paula Abdul is still searching for up-and-coming talent — this time on the Internet.
The former American Idol judge has launched AuditionBooth.com, a website that strives to connect wannabe stars with casting directors, producers and managers working on such projects as TV shows, online videos or brand campaigns.

"I've spent so much time throughout my career nurturing great talent, some of whom have realized their dreams and some of whom haven't been as lucky," Abdul told The Hollywood Reporter. "The fact is though that in some cases the only difference has been opportunity — that is what AuditionBooth is about — the opportunity."
Abdul, whose new CBS dance show Live to Dance premieres in January, is co-founder, equity partner and board member of AuditionBooth.com. She is responsible for the look and feel of the site and has a blog, on which she posts videos offering advice.

Telemundo, Reveille, Screenvision, MasterChef and women's clothing firm Dots, which is working on a brand campaign with former Idol champ Jordin Sparks, are among the first partners offering auditioning opportunities on the site.
Casting directors can sort through submissions based on different criteria, and talent can answer casting questions and record or re-record videos via webcams.
Abdul says she hopes the site can provide "fresh new personalities" for entertainment professionals.
