Paula Abdul Is Reportedly Dating Rhode Island-Based Businessman John Caprio

"The X Factor" U.S. judge Paula Abdul, 49, may have broken up with 32-year-old music entrepreneur Jeff Bratton in November 2011 (after dating him for about a year-and-a-half), but Star magazine is reporting that she quickly rebounded the month of the breakup when she began to date 40-year-old Rhode Island-based businessman John Caprio.

An unnamed source told Star:

"Paula's sister, Wendy, lives near Providence, and Paula and John were introduced by mutual friends in late November and they really hit it off. She likes that he's a normal dude. She met his whole family, and they loved her. They're a big, loud family. But Paula fit right in."

Abdul's relationship with ex-boyfriend Bratton was also long-distance, since Bratton is based in New York, and Abdul is based in Los Angeles.

Bratton told People magazine in January 2012 that he and Abdul broke up because of their busy work schedules.

Abdul has been married twice. Her first marriage to first husband Emilio Estevez lasted from 1992 to 1994. She was married to second husband Brad Beckerman from 1996 to 1998.

Paula Abdul may be busy filming The X Factor, but her love life is just as active! Life & Style can reveal that the former American Idol judge, 49, is dating Cascine record-label owner Jeff Bratton.

Jeff and Paula were seen together on July 5 at the airport in LA -- and had his arm around her. The two were first spotted together on June 10, dining at NYC's Indochine restaurant. "They sat in a booth with a guy friend," an eyewitness tells Life & Style. "It was a mellow low-key dinner, and they were attentive to each other."

And even Paula has admitted to being close with Jeff. She worked with him and Shine 2009, a band on his label, in the spring. "I'm close with Jeff Bratton from Cascine and love what they're doing with the label," she's said.
